Sotheby’s saw exceptional results for several medals in its focused July 26 auction titled Buzz Aldrin: American Icon in New York City, including $226,800 for Aldrin’s New Frontier congressional gold medal. A silver medallic coin being offered in Dec. 5 auction recalls the ongoing threat of piracy to the Venetian economy.
