Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC) has announced the winners of its 2025 Registry Awards, celebrating exceptional coin collections from around the world. The honors, presented for the first time at the American Numismatic Association’s World’s Fair of Money last week (August 19-23), recognize standout sets among over 394,000 registered collections submitted by more than 40,000 enthusiasts.
The awards highlight achievements in categories ranging from classic and modern sets to creative custom collections. Three collectors received the prestigious David W. Lange Overall Achievement Award for their long-term dedication and impact on the hobby.
Bruce Laquster, a veteran collector focused on U.S. modern coinage, was praised for his consistency: “Few collectors can match the consistency and competitiveness Bruce brings year after year.”
CCFFG earned accolades for amassing 757 Best in Category honors, while Vett was noted for expertise in world coins, particularly late Soviet precious metals, with sets that “showcase depth and attention to quality.”
In the Best Classic Sets category, highlights included Andrey Selyanin’s German Empire Type Set, described by NGC as “an ambitious and artfully curated tribute to a once-fragmented empire,” and TD Petersen’s 3 Cent Nickel Proofs, a “masterpiece worth studying” packed with Top Pop rarities.

Modern winners featured lcs1129’s flawless Coin & Chronicles Set and Roberto Zen’s monumental All American Eagles MS70, which has dominated its category for 14 years.
Presentation awards went to sets like Strandcoins’ Australian Pennies, lauded for their “masterclass in curation and aesthetics,” and Simpson’s Proof Indian Half Eagles, where each coin is a “showstopper.”
New sets shone with entries such as Coin Maestro’s Apollo Medals Restrikes, incorporating space-flown materials, and ACHIA5’s ambitious Franklin Half Dollars.
Custom sets impressed judges with innovation, including Fisk the Cat’s U.S. Silver Assay Medals and coin928’s “The U.S. Mint Goes to War,” viewed over 100,000 times.
The Most Informative honor went to coinsandmedals’ Soho Mint medals, a “wonderous effort” tributing a mentor, while VSI Collection’s historical date set earned Most Creative for blending coins with key events, creating “history in your hands.”
NGC emphasized the awards’ role in fostering passion: “From ancient rarities to modern bullion… this year’s winners represent the very best of what coin collecting has to offer.”
