The Hon’ble Union Minister of Culture & Tourism, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, unveiled the ₹200 commemorative coin to mark the 200 years of Rani Channamma’s victory at Kittur. The event was held at Siri Fort Auditorium, August Kranti Marg, New Delhi, on October 24, 2025.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of Swami Vachanananda from Karnataka. Several dignitaries, historians, cultural scholars, and representatives from Karnataka also attended the commemoration, celebrating Rani Channamma’s enduring legacy and her remarkable contribution to India’s early freedom struggle.
This release marks the 25th commemorative coin for the year 2025, minted by the India Government Mint, Hyderabad. The bookings for the Proof and UNC sets are expected to open soon on the India Government Mint’s website and will be updated under the current and upcoming bookings section.
