Tina Bellanca Retires from the Professional Numismatists Guild After 21 Years of Service

If you’ve ever contacted the Professional Numismatists Guild (PNG) over the past two decades—whether you’re a dealer, a collector, or just someone looking for trustworthy numismatic guidance—there’s a good chance the person who helped you was Tina Bellanca.

After 21 years of dedicated service, Tina is officially retiring as Executive Assistant at the end of August 2025.

The Backbone of the PNG

For many in the industry, Tina wasn’t just a helpful voice on the other end of the phone—she was the heartbeat of the PNG’s day-to-day operations. Since 2004, she’s supported the Guild through multiple leadership transitions, 11 cycles of Board appointments, and years of evolving priorities within the numismatic community. From coordinating logistics to preserving institutional memory, Tina’s impact has been felt far beyond her job title.

She worked closely with longtime Executive Director Bob Brueggeman, who led the organization from 1995 to 2023. Tina called him a mentor, praising his leadership and describing him as “a great man, father, and mentor.” She also had high praise for Bob’s successor, current Executive Director John Feigenbaum, describing him as a “dynamic individual” who has brought new energy to the Guild.

Feigenbaum returned the compliment, noting that Tina played a key role in ensuring a smooth leadership transition. “Her historic knowledge of the organization and her unmatched positivity have been a huge part of my success in the organization,” he said. “Speaking for the entire PNG Board and membership—Tina, you will be sorely missed.”

A Pillar Through Every Presidency

PNG President James Sego, a veteran of the Board for over a decade, added, “I can truly say that Tina was the glue that held the PNG together. She is the consummate professional. Details are critical in an organization, and Tina was on top of them all. She’ll be missed by all.”

That attention to detail helped steer the organization through 11 separate biennial Board elections, with Tina offering continuity and expertise through every change. With over 300 members across the U.S. and internationally, the PNG represents some of the most trusted dealers in rare coins and currency—and Tina has been there to support them all.

Humor, History, and New Chapters

Reflecting on her time at PNG, Tina shared a humorous early memory that stuck with her. When dealer Tom Denly found out she was Bob Brueggeman’s daughter, he joked, “I just don’t see it, you’re so nice.” Tina admitted she wasn’t sure how to take it at the time—but it marked the beginning of a lasting friendship.

As she steps away from her role, Tina says it’s “bittersweet” to leave a profession that became such a big part of her life. “I’m excited for my next chapter, though, and know that I’m leaving the PNG in good hands.”

Taking over as Executive Assistant is Tamara Collett, a seasoned professional with years of experience working with Positive Protection Inc., the firm that provided security for many major coin and jewelry shows. Her background makes her a natural fit for the position.
