The Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, will release a ₹550 commemorative coin and a postal stamp on the occasion of ‘Sardha Panchashatamanotsava’, the 550th-year celebration of the Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math, at Canacona, South Goa, on November 28, 2025.
The Prime Minister will also unveil a 77-feet bronze statue of Prabhu Shri Ram at the Math and inaugurate the ‘Ramayana Theme Park Garden’ developed by the institution.
The event will be graced by the auspicious presence of P. P. Shree Vidyadheesh Teerth Swamiji, the Peethadhipathi of the Math, along with devotees, disciples, dignitaries, and representatives from various religious and cultural organizations who will gather to celebrate this historic milestone in the Math’s glorious spiritual journey.
Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math, located in Partagali, Canacona, Goa, is a sacred seat of spiritual learning and devotion for the Gaud Saraswat Brahmin community. Established over 550 years ago, it follows the Dvaita Vedanta philosophy of Jagadguru Sri Madhvacharya and has played a vital role in preserving Sanatana Dharma and cultural heritage. The Math is renowned for its lineage of revered Swamijis who have guided devotees with wisdom and compassion. Under the leadership of His Holiness Shrimad Vidyadheesh Teerth Swamiji, it continues to inspire faith, promote education, and uphold the timeless values of devotion, service, and righteousness.
This will be the second time a commemorative coin is being issued in the denomination of ₹550 in Republic India coinage. The earlier coin was released in 2019 to mark the 550th Prakash Purab of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
This release should mark the 35th commemorative coin of 2025, with the Ministry of Finance confirming its issuance through a gazette notification dated November 26, 2025. Additionally, several more commemorative coin releases are expected this year, as outlined in the upcoming and possibility section.
