The Government of India will issue a ₹350 commemorative coin to mark the 350th Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur. The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on November 24, 2025, confirming this coin.
The Hon’ble Prime Minister will participate in a special programme in Kurukshetra, Haryana, on November 25, 2025, marking the 350th Shaheedi Diwas of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the revered ninth Sikh Guru. The 350th Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur is observed with deep reverence across India and beyond, honoring his supreme sacrifice for human rights, freedom of faith, and justice. Born in 1621, Guru Tegh Bahadur stood unwaveringly against religious persecution and gave his life to protect the oppressed, earning the title “Hind Di Chadar” (Protector of India). His martyrdom in 1675 in Delhi symbolizes courage, selflessness, and the fight for justice, leaving a timeless legacy for generations. Observances include prayers, processions, and educational programs that celebrate his teachings of moral courage, compassion, and freedom of conscience. The day serves as a reminder of the importance of standing up for righteousness and protecting the rights of all communities.

The inscription “Commemoration of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s 350th Martyrdom Day” in English shall be depicted on the lower periphery of the coin.
This will be only the second time a ₹350 denomination coin is being issued, the first having been released in 2019 to mark the 350th Prakash Utsav of Sri Guru Gobind Singh. It is also the second commemorative coin honoring Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur, the first being a unique ₹400 denomination coin issued to mark his 400th Birth Anniversary.
The release of this ₹350 commemorative coin is expected to be highly sought after by collectors, as it combines historical significance with spiritual reverence, making it a valuable addition to any numismatic collection.
