The Arya Samaj is a reformist movement founded by Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati in 1875 to revive the true teachings of the Vedas and promote social and spiritual reform. It stands against caste discrimination, idol worship, and social evils, advocating equality, education, and moral living. The movement played a major role in awakening national consciousness and inspiring the spirit of self-reliance and truth. Through its educational institutions and humanitarian work, the Arya Samaj continues to spread the message of righteousness and Vedic wisdom across the world.

The metal composition of the ₹150 coin will consist of a Nickel Silver, comprising 60% Copper, 20% Nickel, and 20% Zinc. The coin will weigh 32 grams and have a diameter of 44 mm, featuring 200 serrations along the edge. The coin’s description is as follows.

Obverse: The face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the center with the legend “सत्यमेव जयते” inscribed below, flanked on the left periphery with the word “भारत” in Devanagari script and on the right periphery with the word “INDIA” in English. It shall also bear the Rupee symbol “₹” and denominational value “150” in the international numerals below the Lion Capitol.

Reverse: This face of coin shall bear the logo of Arya Samaj 150 Year Celebration at the centre. The inscription “आर्य समाज का 150 वां वर्ष समारोह shall be written in Devanagari script on the upper periphery of the coin and the inscription “Arya Samaj 150 Year Celebration” in English shall be written on the lower periphery of the coin. The year ‘1875’ in international numerals shall be written on the left side of the logo and the year ‘2025’ in international numerals shall be written on the right side of the logo. The first half of Gayatri Mantra in Devanagari script shall be inscribed below Hindi Text “आर्य समाज का 150 वां वर्ष समारोह” and the second half of Gayatri Mantra in Devanagari script shall be inscribed above English Text of “Arya Samaj 150 Year Celebration”.

This commemorative coin will also come as a big relief for collectors, as it is being issued in Nickel Silver, a welcome move at a time when quaternary alloy and pure silver coins have become increasingly expensive due to the recent surge in silver prices.
