Hyderabad Mint Commences Bookings for Rani Channamma Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Hyderabad, has commenced the bookings for the ₹200 commemorative coin issued to mark the 200 years of Rani Channamma’s victory at Kittur. The bookings are open from October 24, 2025, and it is subject to limited availability.

Earlier, on October 24, 2025, the Hon’ble Union Minister of Culture & Tourism, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, unveiled the commemorative coin in the presence of Swami Vachanananda from Karnataka. Several dignitaries, historians, cultural scholars, and representatives from Karnataka also attended the commemoration held at Siri Fort Auditorium, August Kranti Marg, New Delhi.

The ₹200 coin is currently issued in a Proof Set with a Booklet and Cardboard (Kappa) Box packaging. Proof Sets with folder and MDF packaging, as well as UNC Sets with folder, may be introduced later.

The ₹200 coin in the Proof Set with the Booklet package is priced at ₹5,550, while the Proof Set with the Cardboard (Kappa) Box is priced at ₹5,670.

This commemorative coin falls under the freedom fighters theme and holds immense significance for collectors and patriots alike. It not only honors a legendary queen who stood fearlessly against colonial power but also continues the tradition of preserving India’s national heritage through numismatic artistry.
